Why an autocrat should strive to be the last autocrat？

 



I repeatedly advise autocratic rulers to strive to be the last generation of autocrats. Only by being the last can you truly ensure the safety of your descendants and your family. When your influence wanes, whether you're still alive or not, your descendants and your family will be liquidated by the new rulers. They will need the resources they control, or they'll need to eliminate the remnants of the previous dynasty to fully seize power. In ancient Chinese history, almost every new generation of rulers would slaughter the remnants of the previous dynasty, at least through economic and political liquidations. This was almost an iron rule. 

Democracies, on the other hand, generally avoid this. In democracies, people at all levels of the ruling class can retire and assume power in an orderly manner through elections, eliminating the need for successors to consolidate power by liquidating the previous rulers and their followers. Even if they covet the wealth of others, they cannot directly extort money through illegal means. Becoming the last autocratic ruler means you will be the end of autocracy and the initiator of democracy. Who can match your achievements? The people of this nation will be blessed by you and grateful for your righteous act of returning power to the people. In particular, you will become the source of legitimacy for future democratic regimes. As long as these regimes remain intact, they will always respect and protect your legitimacy. The British royal family, the Japanese imperial family, and the Spanish royal family all retain their status and prestige in their respective countries due to these reasons. 

Unfortunately, my voice carries little weight, and few believe my words. The same words, spoken by different people, can have different effects. If President Trump or other prominent figures could express this to the leaders of authoritarian countries, such words could potentially influence the fate of a nation. May the Lord Jesus grant President Trump wisdom, courage, health, and strength.
