The moral legitimacy of the Trump administration’s invasion of Iran: Why it is morally legitimate for democracies to eliminate authoritarian states
Western countries often consider the people and the government and the country as one, because their governments are democratically elected. Almost all authoritarian countries originated from the conquest and rule of foreign races, while those that are not originated from internal conquests between members of a specific nation. Due to the uneven spread of technology, people in backward areas often become victims of relatively advanced foreign technology and become slaves of those who master those technologies. We can clearly see a typical example of this kind of country in the South American empire established by the Spanish and Portuguese. In this type of country, the people and the government and the country are in an antagonistic relationship, so it is absurd for French President Macron to say that regime change in Iran should be implemented by the people of the country.
