The superficiality of Macron and others: Russia’s invincibility
In fact, the Russian Empire has never been defeated. The typical defeat was the Eastern Expedition to Russia launched by Napoleon and Hitler.
Some people may mention the Mongol conquest, but when the Mongols attacked Kievan Rus, the Russian Empire had not yet been formed.
This is not because the Russians are so good at fighting, but because their country has a large population, rich resources and a large strategic depth.
To fight a decisive battle with a big country like Russia, you must fight quickly and decisively, attack its capital directly, and then support another democratic government, so that the two Russian countries will attack each other; fighting a war of attrition with a big country like Russia is bound to fail.
Now European countries are shouting in vain to support Ukraine, but they obviously have not figured out how to completely defeat Russia. So how do you fight this war?
This war cannot be won without attacking the Russian mainland. If you keep fighting a war of attrition in Ukraine, then Hitler and Napoleon have proved that no one can defeat Russia.
Some people argue that the Russians did not fail in the Russo-Japanese War? The Russians did fail, but this failure is of the same type as Russia's failure in the Crimean War: it was not that they lost their ability to fight, but that they did not want to fight anymore.
Isn't this kind of failure of Russia in the Crimean War and the Russo-Japanese War what President Trump wants to bring to Europe now? Why should Europeans reject it?
